The Building's HVAC Systems...

Now lets take a quick look at what we have built. To the right is the model home we've been and you'll be surprised at how much you now understand.

Impressive! Right!

Now we'll add to your knowledge by working on the heating and air conditioning system for the home.

About 90% of all HVAC systems fall into one of two types - conventional or heat pump systems

  1. Conventional HVAC systems have a single purpose compressor for the air conditioning side of the HVAC system.

  2. Heat pump units are designed with a dual purpose compressor pump. In the summer they expel heat from the home and in the winter, they bring heat in from outside.

First lets understand some basic principles. Other than at absolute zero (-273.16 Degrees), there are always molecules creating heat in the air.

Of the two systems, the conventional is still the most commonly used and that's the system I'll use in this section.
